It’s a four character story about sexuality and the relationships of a troubled married couple and the wife’s younger sister starring James Spader, Andie MacDowell, Peter Gallagher, and Laura San Giacomo. It won the Palme d’Or at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival, and was influential in revolutionizing the independent film movement in the early 1990s.
