The swinging and swaggering five-piece ensemble Magnolia Memoir sits down to chat with Grant-Lee Phillips on today’s episode of Shortwave. Mela Lee, Alexander Burke, and Aron Forbes talk about their first concert, approaching songs from any given character, and how the members of the band found each other. They also talk about Mela’s past day job working at a bank, being able to be a badass voice actress, and the inspiration behind the song “Broken Cup.” Plus, we’re treated to some live songs from their latest album “The Perfect Crime.”
