Happy 4th of July! This week’s all American show kicks of with a re-read of the wonderful “Ok, Maybe Our Apartment IS Too Small For A Bald Eagle”, written by Tom O’Donnell and read by Jason Mantzoukas at the UCB Theater. Then, Robert Baker walks through a patriotic reading of the Declaration of Independence. Closing the show out, playwright Crispin Whittell reads the wonderfully condescending response letter from the British. Be sure to pick up “H is for Hawk” by Helen McDonald so you can be a part of the next book club! Nate Corddry’s Reading Aloud bids farewell to Earwolf. As a send off, Nate reads “Behold Your Newest Silver-Screen Sex Goddess, Jane Neighbor” by writer and playwright Rachel Axler (Veep), an excerpt from the novel Stoner by writer John Williams, and the first letter from “Letters to a Young Poet” written by poet Rainer Maria Rilke to Franz Xaver Kappus.

Timothy Simons barges in not wasting any time and gets into a live reading of “I’m Comic Sans, Asshole.” by Mike Lacher. Then, Robyn Clark treats us to a reading of “I Saw Hamilton So Now I’m Going To Orphan My Son” by Katie Schorr. Later, Nate reads a chapter from the novel The Friends of Eddie Coyle by George V. Higgins. Finally, in honor of the 4th of July, Robert Baker walks through a patriotic reading of the Declaration of Independence.
