Stephen Merchant

Stephen Merchant is an Emmy, BAFTA, and Golden Globe-winning actor, comedian, writer, producer, and director. He is best known for his collaborations with Ricky Gervais as the co-writer and co-director of the popular British sitcom The Office, as the co-writer, co-director and a co-star of Extras, and as the co-host of The Ricky Gervais Show in its radio, podcast, audiobook and television show forms.
Stephen has acted alongside Sam Rockwell in the Oscar winning film JOJO RABBIT and starred as mutant “Caliban” in the international blockbuster WOLVERINE alongside Hugh Jackman. Stephen also directed and co-produced with Dwayne Johnson MGM’s critically acclaimed film FIGHTING WITH MY FRIENDS, one of Florence Pugh’s first big films. Stephen co-created, co-wrote and directed HBO’s Hello Ladies, a sitcom based on his live stand-up show of the same name. The series ended with a feature-length HBO special and received two nominations at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards. More recently Stephen co-created the BAFTA nominated comedy/drama series THE OUTLAWS for BBC One/Amazon Prime.
