From fatal pierogi-eating contestants to dwarf tossing legislation, the boys are finally back in town to deliver breaking news! The guest: Gary Gulman from Last Comic Standing. I’m calling it: Ken Marino is the best dad we’ve ever had on the show! He knows his way around Disneyland, he’s super positive, he knows all the coolest stories (had you guys ever heard of Anpanman?) and he’s got an awesome new kitchen to bake yummy things in! We love Ken as much as he loves sound effects! He’s funny, he’s honest, and we’re looking forward to having him back!

The week Jeff once again breaks the mold of what The Wolf Den is by podcasting all by himself (and with a little help from our brilliant engineer Dustin and our financial miracle worker Dave). We’d like to give you a once over of where Earwolf is right now: What our problems are, how we’re trying to fix them, and what that means for our future. We love all you listeners and always welcome feedback, so don’t hesitate to email thewolfden@earwolf.comand lay it all on us! Thanks

Her name is June Diane Raphael and she’s left her buddies at How Did This Get Made? to countdown the Billboard Tastemakers Chart, the Movie Chart, and to play a quick round of Chart Roulette. She and Howard discuss Devo awareness, commiserate over scares and frights, and define “upstairs” versus “downstairs.” And that’s just a taste! Be sure to listen for the announcement of the 12 Cups of Summah winner, you stumblebums!

Lindsay Lohan contributed a lot of playful, positive art to the world of family films. And then she did I Know Who Killed Me. This week we watch our favorite Mean Girl transition from plucky teen to psychotic stripper (I think) and we try to do it sober, but in case we can’t we want to hear your ideas for drinking games! Leave them on the forums, pick up a Ridiculous Cage shirt, and come back next week!

Matt Besser, Howard Kremer, and Danielle Schneider are slapping some paint on their faces and getting in the gridiron! First some basic drills with the Hank Williams Jr fiasco, the intrinsic hypocrisy of Fantasy Football, and the NBA lockout, but then the real game begins: Explaining football terminology to Danielle (as a surrogate for our other non-sports fan listeners). Which of our replacement hosts are YOU voting for?

October 7, 2011

After ten weeks of nerve-wracking Skype calls as part of The Earwolf Challenge, we’ve got Matt Besser in our living room and we’re going to hold HIS feet to the fire for a change! And by that we mean, we ask him about his grocery shopping and find out why he dislikes Domino’s Pizza. This is our first episode on Earwolf, so be sure to drop us a line on the forums (as long as you aren’t a troll)!

It is time for another product review and this one is a real doozy. Is the Over Door Home Cervical Neck Traction Kid by Spineright spine-right for you? Listen in and hopefully you can avoid some of Bob’s mistakes.

Okay guys, I think we need to have a meeting. First of all, you need to work on your first date etiquette. I mean, it’s a date not an asshole party! Secondly, you can’t use your sibling’s fame to try to propel your own career. I don’t want to see that! Lastly, and this is most important, you need to get off your butt and listen to this episode of Glitter in the Garbage with Drew, Dante, and Rebekah! Sheesh, was that so hard? Meeting adjourned!

When we relaunched Earwolf.com, we added a section called Yourcast that would allow podcasters to advertise on our site. For this week’s The Wolf Den, we’ve asked two of our Yourcast users (Jacob Munford from Lobstercast and Cameron Buchholtz from CB Radio) to tell us about their experiences using the service and to teach us about the unique struggles of running a podcast outside of Hollywood. Enjoy, and be sure to peruse Yourcast for what might be your new favorite podcast!

Test your fears as the Billboard Top Dance Singles goblins and weekend box office ghouls wait behind every twist and turn to frighten you. Rob Huebel is here to hold your hand (and play a round of Chart Goose), and if the ghost scratches on his chest are any indication, he’s prepared to fight! Are you ready to be transported to the scary world of LMFAO and Killer Elite? Are you prepared to fend off scary strangers at birthday parties and videotape armed gunmen? Do I look pretty?

October 5, 2011

Sure, most podcast listeners are white, American males, but that doesn’t mean that we lack cultural diversity as an industry. Today Bob responds to a listener letter regarding some of the geographically and culturally specific ailments and illnesses that can and will afflict many of us. Thanks for your letter Sam!

October 4, 2011

One of the coolest things about science is that you can use it to blow things up! Our guest, physicist Robert Ike III, knows all about harnessing atoms and can explain just how particle accelerators, Uranium, and lasers work. Mostly lasers. This episode is primarily about lasers. And gerbils, surprisingly. It’s a real blunderbuss of an episode! Am I using that term correctly?

Analyze Phish Logo

October 3, 2011

If you missed the debut episode of Analyze Phish, let me get you up to speed: Harris Wittels and Scott Aukerman are friends, Harris likes Phish, and Scott does not. This show is a chance for Harris to defend his musical taste and maybe even gain a new concert buddy. In episode two, Harris addresses some of the criticisms he received for the first episode and tries a new approach to introducing Scott to Phish. Will it work? You’ll have to listen to find out!

October 3, 2011

It’s been way too long since our good friends Sarah Silverman and Nick Kroll stopped by! They join singer Dan Mangan this week for a “haha lol” Comedy Bang Bang complete with surprise appearances from Bobby Bottleservice and Nick’s “Old Lady” Erma. It’s occasionally philosophical (why don’t men wear dresses?) and perhaps a little inside about Hollywood (Bobby B has some big plans for Sarah’s career), but at the end of the day it’s still a good ol’ Comedy Bang Bang complete with Would You Rather? and Plugs! Sip some brandy and enjoy!

October 3, 2011

This week’s How Did This Get Made? is the first of its kind. Our guests are Lexi Alexander, director of Punisher: War Zone and Patton Oswalt, one of the movie’s most vocal supporters. Together with Paul and June (unfortunately Jason had to miss this one) they honestly explain how this movie got made: From the very first pitch meetings to the week after it was released. Hear how unfortunate timing, poor marketing, and mixed expectations affected the success of one of the coolest, craziest, most fun comic book adaptations of the decade (at least).
