We’ve asked all ten of our contestants to send in the opening of their podcast, be it a theme song or spoken introduction, and the lowest ranking competitor will be sent home. We start the week off with a coaching session so be sure to join us tomorrow to hear the resulting intros with special guest judges Jason Sklar and Jimmy Pardo.

The Earwolf studio is experiencing a British Invasion! They’re coming to Attack the Block and we’re too Spaced to call the Hot Fuzz. It feels like Earwolf Vs. The World and hopefully we won’t end up (Shaun of the) Dead (okay, I’m done now). Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright are our special guests who earn their keep in a heated game of Hollywood Facts and a rousing round of Would You Rather. Representing for the US of A is songwriter and entrepreneur Martin Riley who helps us with the creative process of penning a tune for a special occasion. Go see Attack the Block and check out Martin’s friend Matt Besser on Earwolf’s very own competition show The Earwolf Challenge.

As summer waxes and the Great Depression wanes, it seems like the perfect time to get out of town and relax! Unfortunately, the Apple Sisters are too committed to bringing you a great show every week so they don’t have time for a week off! Thus we present to you the Staycation episode, a chance to escape reality all while plugged into your radio. Grab a towel from Buddy’s Beach Blow-Out and follow the girls as they take a mental trip to Hawaii! Postcards can be sent to the ladies on Facebook and here on the Earwolf forums and be sure to see them live at Largo on July 25 (tickets available at Laughstub).

If Sklarbro Country had a Vice President, it would be Chris Cox. His contributions to Sklarbro Country are consistently hilarious and have garnered the love of Sklones everywhere. You’ve heard him as Tiger Woods, Sam Elliott, Racist Vin Scully and more, now hear him without all the voices (okay, there are still some voices thrown in). Get to know his past as a writer on projects like Small Shots and Swing Blade and find out which impressions have yet to make their way to the calming shores. The guys talk music, Saturday Night Live, sports memories and more. It feels like you’re hanging out with friends, only your friends’ Owen Wilson impressions aren’t as funny. Framed by the A.V. Club Undercover song series, this episode gracefully brings Sklarbro Country into it’s second year as a podcast.

For the first time, Jeff records an episode from his apartment and without guests. He monologues about trying to survive a rough week at Earwolf, why you should pursue your passion and how to afford titty bars. He also plays messages from listeners about what they like about Earwolf and what can be improved. He even discusses his thoughts on inappropriate laughter in lactation rooms. Enjoy this weird episode.

We’re doing things a little bit differently this week because, well, our beautiful guest Kelly Osbourne does things a little bit differently. Part rock royalty, part fashionista, Kelly joins Drew and past guest Selene Luna to talk a bit about growing up in the public eye and how she became the lovely young woman that she is today. She has regrets (mainly in the tattoo department), and aspirations (did you know she just filmed a movie with Miley Cyrus?), but mostly she is just a fun, smart, witty lady who loves her family and her dogs. I defy you to not fall in love with her!

We’ve finally reached the end of the getting-to-know-you week on The Earwolf Challenge and we’re ready to reveal our three final contestants. We start off with The Little Dum Dum Club which is based out of Australia and is our only international show. We follow that up with Beginnings, a show about the origins of creative people hosted by the comedy duo Wrestling Team. Finally we have Left Handed Radio, another sketch show with five different performers from five different NYC sketch and improv groups. Join us next week for our very first elimination round!

With summer in full swing, it’s time to bring in someone who knows a thing or two about living on the beach and in the sun: Joe Lo Truglio! He changed out of his acid-washed jeans and parked his zephyr and he’s full prepared to discuss hip hop, movies, and geese (well, one particular goose). Lil’ Joe knows plenty about the Detroit film scene and knipfing hunting, but can he keep up with Hermes the Chart Goose or with the Odd Jobs Bonus Chart? You’ll just have to listen and find out! Spoiler Alert: Sloppy Timmy is back!

Today is day two of the Earwolf Challenge and it’s time to meet some more contestants. First off we have Ham Radio which features Brett Hamil writing, performing and editing sketches all by himself. Next we get a look inside the married home of Elizabeth and Andy, host and “psychic” of Totally Laime who pride themselves on asking the most important people the least important questions. We also have Television Zombies whose love of sci-fi and fantasy strikes a chord with Matt. We end today’s episode with The F Plus who offer us a look at the most awful garbage the internet has to offer. Just three more contestants left to meet, so stop by back tomorrow to get to know them!

In darkest night Paul, June, Jason, and Paul Rust went to see Green Lantern. In brightest day they reunited to figure out what the hell happened. You’d think that the art of the comic book movie would be perfected by now, but with it’s awful CGI, ultra-quippy dialogue, and awkward pacing and storytelling, Green Lantern is certainly the exception. Even Jason who has read the comics didn’t understand what was happening most of the time! If this film left you just as confused and unhappy, come commiserate with the gang and hopefully your questions will be answered. No guarantees though.

There are many ways to experience this world around us. Whether haunted by nightmares or high off of unfiltered cigarettes, the altered state can be scary and confusing. Unless, of course, you are our guest Doug Benson who has cultivated a fruitful career all while under the fog of marijuana. Join us, sober or not, as we discuss the ingesting, enjoyment, and occasional riskiness of taking drugs. Join us on Facebook and leave an iTunes review (if you don’t get too distracted and hungry).

Welcome to The Earwolf Challenge, America’s first reality podcast! For the next ten weeks Matt Besser and Engineer Frank will help us find the next Earwolf podcast, but for now let’s just get to know our competitors. Meet The Fort Podcast where comedians Mike, Kevin and Ed discuss girls and games and do sketches with comedian guests. Hear Bob and Dan of the aptly named Bob and Dan Cast and their request to be the underdog of the contest. Lastly, we hear from The Complete Guide to Everything, the podcast intent on putting Wikipedia out of business. We have seven more contestants to meet so stick around for the next two days and head to the forums to tell us what you think so far!

Stars- They’re just like us! Bobby Moynihan from Saturday Night Live joins us this week and proves his comedy nerd cred with an impressive knowledge of SNL history that will embarrass even the nerdiest of listeners. Our old friend Ozzie Patinkin (no relation) of the Bakery for Dogs returns and tells us about dog treats, dog costumes, dog amputation, dog guns, and so on and so forth. Another old friend is back: Hollywood Facts! It joins Would You Rather? in this episode that defies reality and begs the question “How far would you go for a Plane Break?”

The Apple Sisters have left their cozy den in Los Angeles and have ventured off to the seedy city of sin: Las Vegas! Listen in and you’ll find out!

I think all our listeners have the same question of Bob, and only Drew has been courageous enough to ask: How did he loose his virginity? The story is touching, and at times criminal, but beautiful nonetheless.

Please have also “liked” our page – We’ll pick a winner on Saturday, July 16th – Frolf date TBD based on schedules. Happy frisbee-ing! Enjoy.

It seems like every time you click refresh on the Nerdist website there is new cool stuff happening. What started as a blog and transitioned into a podcast is now a television pilot, a live performance space at Meltown Comics, a podcasting network, and even a book! Chris Hardwick is here to try to discuss all of that as well as his partnership with Geek Chic and the economic difficulties of doing a podcast live. We even get Chris’ opinion on our new Earwolf Live App and a stellar suggestion for a new, simpler term to replace “download.” Listen to the episode and, as always, let us know what you think over on the forums!

Today we take a not-so-glamorous look at the seedy underbelly of, you guessed it, the theatre! The artform, as beautiful as it may be, is condusive to some of the most disgusting behavior imaginable and Drew, Daniel and Karen have seen it all. From the overzealous organ players to the children’s entertainer trying to make it in an adult production, we know how it goes. From serious performers like Richard Simmons and the Snapple lady to sad trainwrecks like the Jersey Shore folks, it’s all here. Everything but Reno Sweeney who was thankfully not cast in this episode.
