This show goes out to all Sklarbro listeners in Fantasy Podcasting Leagues! This week was our draft, and we went with entrepreneur and podcast legend Jesse Thorn, as well as Comedy Bang Bang favorite Nick Kroll. The guys run Sklarbitration for the first time in weeks, and for a very deserving plaintiff: Steve Miller’s sagging career. Nick Kroll tells us about his fantasy-centric show The League and premiers his character Randy Moss’ Dog! Jesse Thorn closes up the show with his fantasy picks for those playing in the AKC league. Here are the not-quite-safe for work (even if your work is playing water polo) Singapore swim-suits, and an interview with Joakim Noah regarding his “kind of awkward” steam room encounter.

Goode on a jukebox, you’ll find something for you in this episode. The gentleman comedian Paul F. Tompkins talks about his rebellious decision to drink eight pints of beer while recording a stand-up special, and tells us how he holds his own in conversation with sports fans. First off, we’d like to apologize for any issues you guys might have had with the website this week. We, uh…forgot to renew the domain. Maybe we shouldn’t have Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys as our web engineer. Regardless, Randy and Jason overcome this set-back, much like Chilean miner Edison Pena did when he ran the New York City marathon. The guys bring in writer and comedian Patton Oswalt (who you probably remember as Wesley Snipes from The Fan) to talk about all aspects of comedy, from writing a comedy book to documenting his experiences touring. Sklarbitration is held in regards to Helen Keller being a hacky punchline, and advice is given for Tim Tebow as he begins his memoir. Plus Jerry Jones explains what the heck has been going on down in Dallas. Leave us your advice on how to be a successful trombonist/Santa Claus, and tell us which potential Sklarbitration Paralegal you would want defending you!

Comedy Bang Bang is always trying to do great things for mankind, whether through helping out a poor delinquent child or bringing in amazing comedians for us all to enjoy. This episode does both! Claire Woodruff (who does not have a robot arm) was sentenced to court-ordered podcasting, and boy does she fit the minimum community service requirements! Zing-Talker Eugene Mirman makes his Comedy Bang Bang debut to support his potential sponsors and talk about his upcoming show Bob’s Burgers. Scott once again opens up to us about his past, this time about his first date. Scott and Eugene show their competitive side when they place bets on the famous “ball pillow challenge” and follow it up with a rousing game of What Am I Thinking? Don’t forget to leave us a comment, or email Claire herself over at drwoodruff@me.com.

This week’s Sklarbro Country features two of America’s finest orators: Comedian Greg Proops and former President George W. Bush. Randy and Jason run Sklarbitration for Randy Moss and help two lonely fans in New York City find each other. Proops discusses, quite eloquently, why he loves the San Francisco Giants, why people should give Barry Bonds a break, and the difference between English and Italian football. This is followed by an in-depth interview with G.W. about his memoir and his former team the Rangers. Until next week, here is Score! A Hockey Musical.

November 4, 2010

Elizabeth has had a long time girl crush on our guest, comedy writer and actress MEGAN NEURINGER (whom you may know as the Mac girl from the Apple commercials and/or HBO’s Flight Of The Conchords) – so we were simply thrilled to find out that she was bringing her funny self out to LA to put up her hit show at UCB – LA and then peed in our pants thrilled that she came on our podcast! For those who aren’t familiar with Doug Benson, he hates candy wrappers, screaming children and sticky seats. However, he does love movies and he joins Scott on Comedy Bang Bang to play the movie game he has made famous on his podcast, The Leonard Maltin Game. Scott has on Pastor Rhe Holner to get down to the theological nitty gritty with deep questions like “What is heaven like?” and “What is your church called?” Doug does a bit of soothsaying regarding the future state of entertainment, politics, and Chilean miners, and all three of the guys participate in a rousing round of What Am I Thinking?

October 29, 2010

Robert Morse (MAD MEN’s “Bert Cooper”; accomplished stage and screen actor) joins Kevin Pollak!

October 28, 2010

Is there a brand new episode of Sklarbro Country? I don’t know! Are Nick Swardson and Sam Elliott the guests? Must be, because I’m laughing! Randy and Jason discuss the mysterious lives of NFL punters and the bizarre prank played on ESPN’s Elizabeth Moreau before Nick Swardson of Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time comes by. Nick and the guys wax nostalgic about when they first met, long before Nick was even an embryo. Nick talks a bit about his experiences with Kato Kaelin (totally positive) and Andrew Dice Clay (completely terrifying), as well as Allen Iverson’s weird career move. Sam Elliott is back by popular request and he brings that special kind of crazy you can expect from a 66 year old character actor. Let us know what you think of Jose Canseco’s Baseball Camp, and go get the free Earwolf App. Churn THAT, butter makers!

As a disclaimer, unlike most Sklarbro episodes, this week contains language that isn’t suitable for children or people offended by profanity.
